Here are some of the tools I use to run my online businesses.
Stuff I Use Everyday
Laptop: MacBook Pro
Since I run my entire business from a laptop, this is an important purchase. For years I just used a Chromebook and it worked fine. But since I made the switch to a MacBook Pro, I’m kicking myself for not doing it sooner. This is, hands-down, the best laptop for digital entrepreneurs.
Tablet: iPad Pro
I really love the new iPad Pro! It’s about as close to a laptop as you can get. Especially when you get the Smart Keyboard Folio and the Apple Pencil with it. Soon you’ll be able to run an entire business with just an iPad.
Notebook: Leuchtturm1917
I use this notebook for everything; yearly goals, quarterly and monthly plans, daily schedules, to-do lists, article outlines, new products and services… everything. Getting away from the computer and getting stuff out of your head and onto paper is a huge boost to your productivity. And sanity!
Website Setup
Content Management System: WordPress
WordPress is an open source content management system that powers over 30% of the internet. It’s flexible and super easy to use so you can build and customize your website without having to hire expensive designers and programmers to do it for you.
Hosting: WPX Hosting
A quality hosting company is one of the most important expenses in running an internet business. Over the years I’ve used a lot of hosting companies (both good and bad). WPX is, by far, the best I’ve found.
Theme: GeneratePress Premium
GeneratePress Premium is a simple, lightweight and super fast theme that makes it easy to build amazing looking websites. I know there are millions of website themes out there to choose from. But if you ask me, GeneratePress Premium beats them all.
Analytics: Fathom Analytics
Fathom is a simple analytics platform that gives you all the information you need to run your website on a single screen. They’re also privacy-focused, so they don’t track and store your visitor’s personal data.
